By I love cuss words. I love the feeling of saying them and having them come out of my mouth. I love the way it makes people uncomfortable and I love the way it makes me feel. But I don’t love the fact that in the process, I’m using a word that I’ve never used in my life. That is a big no no. I’m not talking about cuss words at school, the playground, or on the street.
The difference between a swear word and a cuss word is that a cuss word is swearing and a swear word is a swear. Saying a swear word is an attempt to assert dominance over another person with words. Well, cuss words are definitely not a swear word. They’re slang, and slang is a word. You can also use cuss words when you’re trying to be a jerk, so thats a good thing. We should definitely stick to the word cuss in business, as it’s a very slangy word. The problem is that many Americans don’t use it in a business context.
A great many people just don’t know what a cuss word is. They see a cuss word and think its a swear word. To them you might as well be calling me a cunt. They don’t know its a word.
The problem is its not just a person. It happens in the workplace, as well. The first time I saw someone use a cuss word in a business context was in a company meeting. I was sitting next to the CEO of a company that was struggling to find employees. One of the business owners said to me, “I want you to know that some of our very best people have used cuss words, and theyre not all your friends. Theyre our enemies too.
Now, you might think that this is a joke, but these business owners are actually serious about keeping their employees safe and are doing their best to banish these words from the workplace. The problem is that cuss words have a long history of being used to describe the worst kinds of people. They’re not just a bunch of people who are nasty. They’re people like Nazis, rapists, bullies, and people who are too young to be adults.
As you might expect, cuss words have been banned at universities for a long time, but the recent debate on the subject has really only been in its embryonic stages. As it turns out, though, the current debate has made it to the public eye. A group of business owners have decided to ban the use of cuss words from their workplaces. They have also created a website, www.cusswords.org, that is dedicated to educating the public about this issue.
