They get paid based on how much real estate listings they write, and the amount of money they make. Agents make anywhere from $5-30 per hour, and that is a pretty small wage compared to the amount of traffic they generate.
Agents earn commissions from real estate listings, which make them a really good little income stream. They can make a LOT of money if they can sell more listings than their clients. But that isnt the only reason they make more than real estate agents. Agents also make a LOT of money from home shopping. The more a home or property they write about, the more commissions they make.
Agents also make a LOT of money from home repairs. Like all professions, home repair makes it easier to make a lot of cash. But the fact is the amount of money you make from home repairs depends on the type of home you fix. To be fair though, it is very common for a home to fall into the homerepair-category that is the most profitable. And if you have a home that is in need of repair, it is probably worth fixing.
All home owners should know that property-repair is a lot like painting. First, it’s a lot of time. Second, it’s an investment that doesn’t make a lot of money. And third, it’s a way to get cash. Like painting, a good property repair job can be done for a fraction of what it costs to paint the house, but it can also cover some expenses that a painting job doesn’t.
As an example, we are seeing more and more people post their property as being in need of repair. Many people are selling their homes for a few thousand dollars and then buying them back for a much higher price. This isn’t wrong to do, but it is a little unfortunate for a lot of homeowners because they can’t save money for a down payment on a new house.
I’m not saying that this is a bad thing. Many people have good reasons for selling their home. It’s a bad idea to take a house that is in need of repair and turn it into a cash generating hobby. A great way to make money is to sell your house at the beginning of winter to get as much money as possible in the first months of the year after a big snow storm.
